If you have to invest your hard-earned money to buy a vehicle that would bring you from point A to B, what would you choose? Considering that not all roads are accessible by trains and buses, one must choose between a family-friendly car and a highly convenient motorcycle.

If you are reading this article, chances are, you are looking for some useful insights to help you decide whether to buy a car or a motorcycle. There are hundreds of pages arguing the merits of one over the other, but in this article, we will present the arguments that support why a two-wheeler is better than a car.

1. A motorcycle is a lot cheaper than a car, and is significantly more economical to use and maintain. The price is obviously a big consideration when buying a primary mode of transportation. You have to consider the cost of the vehicle and other necessary expenses you have to bear in maintenance and repair. The motorcycle is the more reasonable choice when it comes to this as you can purchase a bike at a fraction of a car’s price tag. More so, it will cost you a lot less in insurance. Since a motorcycle’s engine is more fuel efficient, you get more mileage for every liter of gas in your tank. This translates to more manageable day-to-day expenditures for your ride and keeping you within comfortable means to spend your money for other stuff. In terms of repairs, as you get more familiar with motorcycle accessories and motorcycle parts, you will learn how easy it is to fix common problems with your bike. Unlike a motorcycle, a car has more parts and even more complicated that you will have to bring it to a repair shop to have things sorted out.

2. A motorcycle can give you more fun and thrill. Actually, love of one does not mean that you will hate the other. If you like motorcycles, you will likely appreciate cars as well, even other types of transportation but not to the same degree. However, motorcycle riders say that there is nothing like riding on an open road, feeling the cool wind on your face and the slightest warmth of the sun on your skin. Imagine yourself apply on the throttle and feeling the surge of power flow from the engine to the wheels and to the pavement. Provided that you have all the necessary motorcycle gears and apparels before you drive, you will definitely feel the ultimate freedom while riding your bike. Besides, there are places a motorcycle can get you that a car cannot. Think of narrow trails in the woods for some close-to-nature adventure, or an out-of-the-way beach with no roads whatsoever going in or out.

3. A motorcycle can make crowded city roads more manageable. For city dwellers, motorcycle is the perfect mode of transportation in navigating the busy city roads where heavy traffic seems to be an around-the-clock situation. Your motorcycle, with its smaller imprint and manageability, can simply pass through traffic, slipping between cars and get you moving along. Of course, you still need to maintain keen watch over where you are going and quick reflex in dealing with tricky traffic congestion. No matter how manageable a road seems to be, always bring your motorcycle helmet with you. You’ll never know when an accident might happen.

4. A motorcycle is easier to park and more convenient to store. Unlike a car, it is easier to find a parking area for a motorcycle. You may even park it at certain areas that will not incur you parking fees which will redound to you saving some money as well. Also, since it is smaller than a car, you will not need a garage at home. A motorcycle shed or even a little covered space in your house will be sufficient. If you have a car and you do not have a garage for it, you will end up leaving it on the roadside and you will be in a lot of anxiety and worry over the safety of your car. Just be careful where you park your bike and beware of sharp objects that might bust your motorcycle tires and rims.

We would also like to address some apparent issues that some people would say to discourage others from buying a motorcycle. They say that bikes could be problematic when riding in the rain, worse when riding on flooded streets. Well, this is easy. Riders can equip themselves with proper rain gears, which they can easily retrieve from storage and use when necessary. Riders can also easily take alternate routes to avoid flooded streets. They can navigate through narrow alleyways to get to higher grounds. If you are in a car, there is not much option for you.
